Painting Guide

Wood surface must be suitably prepared, clean, dry and free from traces of dust, dirt, wax and grease. The moisture content should not exceed 15% prior to coating..
Optional Step: Wash with Jotun Fungicidal Wash to prevent and remove fungus growth on the wood. Leave it to dry for 24 hours before proceeding with step 1..

Step 1

Sand the surface of the wood thoroughly with #400 grit sand paper..

Step 2

Wipe the wood surface with with a cloth dampened with Jotun Gardex Thinner to remove dust and particles. Allow it to dry fully before painting..

Step 3

Apply 1 coat of Woodshield. Please refer below table for recommended recoating time..

Step 4

Repeat steps 1, 2, 3 using #600 grit sand paper after 1st coat of Woodshield..

Step 5 (For new Wood)

Repeat again steps 1, 2, 3 using #1000 grit sand paper after 2nd coat of Woodshield.

Thinning	Dilution is not necessary for brush and roller application. if required, dilute with Jotun Gardex Thinner (max 5%). For spray application, dilute with Jotun Gardex Thinner (max 15%).

Cleaning	Clean brushes and tools with Jotun Gardex Thinner.
